Concetta Room

ROOM FEATURES

The room reflects Concetta’s rigorous elegance, with original cementine floors evoking the palace’s tradition. A massive carved chest of drawers dominates the space, recalling the atmosphere of times gone by. The desk is accompanied by a dark leather armchair, perfect for immersing oneself in reading or reflection. The bed, large and bright, is complemented by cushions in natural fabrics that invite relaxation. A soberly framed mirror broadens the perception of space, maintaining a balance between modern comfort and period charm.

THE HISTORY

The room is a tribute to Grandma Concetta (who was Migliorisi when she was single), a woman of austere character but loving presence. Saverio’s wife (their marriage certificate hangs on the wall, a symbol of their lasting bond), Concetta was the operational heart of the family: rigorous, methodical, she devoted herself to her five children with a love that was severe but never edgy, and with the same energy she put into baking bread for them in the palace’s wood-fired oven. A passionate pianist, her sheet music with her initials was found in the house, testifying to a passion cultivated in silence, almost as if she wanted to find in her own intimacy that harmony and sobriety that characterised her features and her manners.
