Ibla,
AS A VILLAGE OUTSIDE TIME

A LABYRINTH BETWEEN STONE,
LIGHT AND EXPERIENCE

There are places that you don’t just visit: you pass through them, breathe them, feel them. Ragusa Ibla is one of them. A tangle of alleys and stairways climbing up the hillside, a mosaic of Baroque palaces and churches carved in pale stone, a city within a city that seems suspended between heaven and time.

Those who come to Castellett find not just a place to sleep, buta gateway to a greater experience. Because Ibla cannot be captured in a postcard: it must be experienced.

IN IBLA THE ADVENTURE IS TO LOSE YOURSELF

Ibla is a labyrinth, and that’s the beauty of it: getting lost in its narrow streets, discovering unexpected views, letting yourself be guided by the light that changes with the hours of the day. The Cathedral of San Giorgio, with its imposing façade, suddenly appears, majestic and elegant.

Further on, the ornate balconies of Palazzo Cosentini tell stonies of centunes past, their grotesque sculptures observing passers-by with enigmatic expressions.

Every corner hides a surprise: behind the cathedral, along what used to be the main street, known as the “Ciancata” because it was the only one paved with limestone slabs called “cianche”, is Palazzo La Rocca, with its balconies supported by sculpted masks. Downhill from the cathedral is the Circolo di Conversazione, where the city’s elite once gathered, and the quiet park Giardino Ibleo, from which there is a breathtaking view over the valley. Here, time does not pass quickly, but dilates, takes its space.

Those who come to Castellett find not just a place to sleep, but a gateway to a greater experience. Because Ibla cannot be captured inapostcard: it must be experienced.

IBLA BY DAY, IBLA BY NIGHТ

By day, Ibla is a palette ofcolours: the sun caresses the golden stone of the façades, the sky is a deep blue, the scent of jasmine mingles with the aroma ofcoffee in the small cafés lining the street.

In the evening, the magic changes. Soft lights illuminate the buildings, shadows stretch across the alleys, small restaurants and cafés light their lanterns and the air is filled with the sound of cutlery on plates. Strolling around after dinner becomesa ritual, a moment suspended between silence and the distant music of some club.

A PLACE TO LIVE,
NOT JUST TO SEE

Castellett is the perfect starting point for an immersive experience of Ragusa Ibla’s resplendent daily life, to the point of touching its essence. Saverio Castilletti knows every nook and cranny of this city and knows that the real experience is not so much in following the route of tourist guides, but in the stories that only those can tell who live, and lose themselves, in the place. It is not just a matter of visiting monuments, but of stopping in a small craft shop, of tasting a typical cake in a hidden pastry shop, of listening to the voices of the inhabitants sitting on the benches. Ibla is made up of details, and the rooms of the Boutique Hotel Castellett are the perfect place to discoverthem without haste.
